Proposal for financing education of Orphan Children
Education is important not only for the full development of one's personality, but also for the sustained growth of the nation. Elementary education in India, therefore, is the foundation on which the development of every citizen and the nation as a whole hinges. But making primary education available for all in India has also been one of the major challenges for the government. Moreover, the quality of elementary education in India has also been a major cause of worry for the government. In fact, making elementary education in India accessible, universal and relevant has been a goal since the eighth five-year plan.
Elementary education in India means eight years of schooling from the age of six. The government has made elementary education compulsory and free. But, the goal of universal elementary education in India has been very difficult to achieve till now.
Govt."Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan"or SSA. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan was launched in 2001 to universalize and improve the quality of elementary education in India through community ownership of elementary education. It had set 2007 as the deadline for providing primary education in India and 2010 as the deadline for providing useful and relevant elementary education to all children in the 6 to 14 age group. But it is a moot question that how far we have succeeded in achieving this goal. While the total literacy rate is 65.38% according to 2001 census, the female literacy rate is only 54.16%. Another area of concern is to reduce the gap between the rural and urban literacy rate. While 80. 3% urban people are literate, only 59.4% of the rural population is literate according to 2001 census data.
What WE FOR YOU will do for this?
Though it is not possible for us to promote every child who are out of school to get enrolled, but any little efforts in this regard would be a well beginning.
Vidyalaya Bhejo Aandolan
Vidyalaya Bhejo is concepts of We For You in which we will select most needy children of society who cant afford the School education, and will finance their study till he completes his /her Higher Secondary. These children may be orphan or those whose parents cant even afford the Govt. School Education. Since there are still 80 Lakhs of Children in India who are unable to enrolled in to the School due to their economic condition. To get enrolled these eighty Lakhs children in to the school is a big challenge for every India who want to shape the future of India.
Purpose of the study
Our main purpose behind tis project is to give a platform to all such children despite the fact of their talent cant afford to get enrolled in to the School.Our motto is not only to finance their study but also to impart them the cultural and human value so that once they pass out and settled down they could also contribute the same for needy children. Thus by doing so we will produce a true citizen of India.
How we will do it?
We will conduct the General awareness test followed by Physiological test in which we will select three children whose study will be financed by us. Presently we will conduct this test In Delhi slums followed by some orphanage. We will extend our plan out of Delhi once we will have a proper finance.
We will select the child of 11-13 year of ageso that we can send get them enrolled in Fifth Class. We will first approach to all renowned school of Delhi who give concession to poor children according to their corporate Social Responsibility. We will persuade them to get children admitted at discount fee.
Lodging of the children
Lodging of the children would be decided once we will finalized the source and nature of Finance.
How you can contribute to this social Cause?
You can contribute by financing the study of a single child. You can directly deposit the amount in to our bank account from where the fee and living cost of the children would be financed. Remember your all contribution should be of one year, you cant finance for less then a year. However there would be a provision to come out after one year. You will signed a bond mentioning that you contribute your contribution for at least one year. You can extend your duration of contribution but again it will be of one year, means all the finance would be of one financial year.
For transparency reason you will have the right to check all the details of your finance.
Implementation of the plan
Once we will have the sufficient finance we will start this project from this upcoming financial period of 2008-2009,provided you ensure your kind support. Your donation would be accepted in cash, Cheque or on line money transfer. In any case no cash money would be accepted.
All donations to “We For You” are eligible for 50% tax exempt under section 80G.
Given our commitment of almost four years of working with and for children, we have realized that if you care enough about the situation of underprivileged Indian children, enough to want to change it, to do something, YOU CAN. Yes you can.Youe every single contribution will boost the society and will minimize the burden of the government. Besides it will give you a sense of self respect and pride.
We got upset to see the disparities that exist between children. We hate to see the children begging and working as domestic help.
